Clarets returning to Ibrox to face Rangers in pre-season
The Clarets met Mark Warburton’s side ahead of the 2015/16 campaign when Scott Arfield’s solitary strike was enough for a 1-0 victory at Ibrox.
That was the first meeting between the two sides since September of the 1922-23 campaign in a benefit game for the Victoria Hospital in Burnley and Burnley ran out 3-0 winners at Turf Moor, courtesy of goals from Bob Kelly and Joe Anderson (2).

Rangers emerged victorious on that occasion when two goals from John Smith proved the difference in a 2-0 win.
More recently, the Gers enjoyed a hugely successful 2015/16 campaign as they clinched the Scottish Championship title with four games to spare with victory over Dumbarton at Ibrox.
Warburton has already added Clarets’ Player of the Year Joey Barton, Jordan Rossiter and Accrington pair Josh Windass and Matt Crooks to his ranks as they aim to win a 55th Scottish Premier League title.
