Quintin-Reid Andrew-Fuller (11) has been raising money for Burnley Judo Club throughout the last year of lockdowns, making his dad Darren Fuller very proud. Darren said: "Through the last year of the lockdowns, Quintin has been raising money to help his judo club, Burnley Judo Club, reopen when they can finally be allowed to. "Duer to the lockdowns the club was in doubt wether or not it would have been able to carry on with the club due to loss in money and questions about the venue as the school it used was closing down. "Burnley Judo Club has been established for over 65 years and has done a lot in the judo community in the past and it would be a shame to see it go. So Quintin started a Just Giving page to try and raise £500 and he ran, walked or cycled 5K a day, when he could, to raise the money." Quintin also hosted a virtual raffle fund-raiser on Facebook and was given some brilliant donations from members of the GB judo team, Camberley Judo Club and Koka Kids judo books to help as prizes. Darren added: "Since he stared judo it has helped him with his confidence, strength and respect for the sport and couldn’t wait to get back to it, so during the lockdowns he was still keeping up with the sport with a zoom training session with three team GB judokas, Lucy Renshall, Jemima Yeats Brown and Gemma Louise Howell. "It was Lucy and Jemima that donated prizes for his raffle along with Natalie Powell. He also entered into the IJF (International Judo Federation) judo fit kids challenge and won out of thousands from around the world who entered. "He has done so well during the lockdowns to raise money and help keep his health and mentality in order. "Now hopefully the lockdowns are easing and judo will return back to normal he is meeting his Judo Club coach Tasha Gregory-Waterhouse to hand over the total money raised for the club, which is £744."
