Four casualties were treated for smoke inhalation and one was taken to hospital by ambulance after a house fire in Pendle today.
Two fire engines from Nelson and one from Colne were called to the property in Barkerhouse Road in Nelson just before noon after a blaze broke out in a bedroom.
Firefighters, who were at the scene for around two hours, used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire.
