Clapping and cheering could be heard across towns as scores of people cameeto their front doors or opened their windows to join in the unprecedented event at 8pm.
Many were moved to tears as the tribute saw neighbours united, clapping and waving to each other.

The Royal family and Prime Minister Boris Johnson joined well wishers to lead the country in the moving event.
There have now been calls for the tribute to be held every Thursday throughout the duration of the pandemic and one Burnley businessman has called for the scrapping of celebrity, sports and pop star awars next year and replaced with accolades for NHS staff, emergency workers, volunteers and anyone else who has gone above and beyond the call of duty during the pandemic.
